Miriam O’Callaghan has paid a sweet tribute to her husband Steve Carson on their anniversary. The Prime Time presenter has been married to the Belfast producer/director since 2000 and they share four children. Miriam has four older children from a previous relationship. Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Miriam shared a selfie alongside her husband to commemorate their anniversary. The selfie is taken outside with Miriam at the forefront wearing a black BBC Scotland rain jacket, and Steve slightly behind her wearing what appears to be a khaki parka jacket. ‘Happy Anniversary to my Steve,’ Miriam said, alongside a red heart emoji. Friends and followers took to the comments to extend well wishes, with Ireland AM presenter Muireann O’Connell admitting the post made her ’emotional.’ Another said: ‘Happy anniversary & many more happy adventures ahead!’ While a third wrote: ‘Isn’t true love just wonderful, always looking out for each other xx.’ Miriam and Steve met when Steve was working on Newsnight, with a friendship blossoming between the pair — which later led to a romance. Miriam has previously admitted how their relationship ‘could have been doomed‘ due to a number of factors including her divorce as well as the fact that there was an eight year age gap. ‘Love conquers all,’ she said, ‘He is the love of my life and a very good guy.’ Who is Steve Carson? — Miriam O’Callaghan’s husband set to return to RTÉ Steve relocated to Dublin when his relationship with Miriam got going, but later departed RTÉ in 2013 and returned to the BBC where he became Head of Productions for BBC Northern Ireland. He later moved to BBC Scotland. Earlier this year, RTÉ Director General Kevin Bakhurst confirmed Steve’s return, noting he could ‘deliver real success across all genres’ in his new role of Director of Video.TRIBUTE
