Miriam O'Callaghan and her husband Steve Carson are celebrating their wedding anniversary and she marked the occasion with a rare sentimental tribute.

The RTE presenter, 64, met her husband in 1995, as a co-worker on a documentary project for BBC Newsnight about the Irish famine.

They hit it off and became a couple and tied the knot five years after first meeting in the year 2000, with their wedding taking place at Kinnitty Castle in Offaly

Now, they have been married for 24 years andshare four children together and even after almost two and a half decades, they are still very much in love.

In a sentimental tribute, Miriam wrote: 'Happy Anniversary to my Steve,' along with a love heart.

She posted the sweet message along with a selfie of the pair wrapped up against the elements at night, as she wore ablack BBC Scotland rain jacket and Steve wore a khaki parka jacket.

The pair were flooded with congratulations from friends, with Lucy Kennedy writing: 'Happy Anniversary you two' and Muireann O'Connell said: 'Why did this make me emotional; happy anniversary'.

Miriam and Steve share four sons, Conor, Jack, Daniel, and Steve, together and Miriam is also mum to Jessica, Georgia,Allanah, and Clara whom she shares with her first husband Tom McGurk, who she was married to from 1983 until 1995.

Speaking previously about her wedding day to Steve, Miriam told the Irish Independent: 'The wedding was great [craic]. We had the best fun. All the kids were there. Though Conor wasn't born yet. It was just a great day and all my relations from Kerry and Laois were there, as well as Steve's relations from Belfast and his dad and step mum.'
